We were so privileged to work with Chantelle and Eric planning and executing their wedding at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres. This wedding was truly an experience for all of us, from the moment we started working together to the day of their wedding.
The entire wedding party, bride and groom included, stayed at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres before and after the ceremony. They arrived before the wedding and enjoyed relaxing time by the pool, taking in views of the Caribbean Sea, exploring Cancun, and enjoying each other’s company. We wanted to make sure that they had time to unwind before the big day while also taking advantage of everything this all-inclusive had to offer.
After months of planning, the couple had a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception with family and friends. Their day was such a joyous occasion that was so much fun to be a part of!
So, we sat down with the bride to discuss all the details of their big day!
We have our own tradition of getting away and traveling during Thanksgiving week. We booked a Caribbean cruise and one night while enjoying some champagne on our balcony, underneath a blanket full of bright stars, Eric proposed! It was the most beautiful, intimate proposal and a memory for the both of us and the starry universe.
Trying to plan and bring the vision of your wedding to life during COVID was extremely difficult. In other circumstances, we probably would have wanted to do a site visit but in the height of COVID we didn’t feel like that would be the best course of action. Thankfully, technology has made it so easy to do so! We watched countless YouTube videos and joined Facebook groups to get the scoop from previous brides. Plus, Charity helped in numerous ways to make sure that I could actually see and get a feel for what our wedding could be like!
In the end, we chose the outdoor sky terrace gazebo. We loved the idea of the ocean being our background without the hassle of sand in our feet and resort guests in their bathing suits possibly walking by. It felt intimate while still having an elevated, modern touch.
We really wanted to stay true to the tropical feel of Mexico. I wanted plants that were native to the area and also it was most budget-friendly! I truly feel like our vibe was a more scaled back and laid back ‘boho meets modern with a taste of the tropics’.
There are so many little things we could name! The signature drinks with our pups as the customized drink order. The fire dancers too! Our custom father-daughter dance (choreographed by yours truly!) but probably one of my favorites was the message we personalized on the back of the menu card that sincerely and thoughtfully explained how grateful we were that so many traveled to celebrate us. We knew that it would be a crazy day and we most likely would not have the leisure to be able to talk to everyone so we wanted to ensure that our gratitude was expressed clearly.
I never had a vision for myself on what my future dress would be like and I was absolutely terrified of what the experience would be like! Luckily my in-laws both in NY and FL set up separate appointments for me, and after trying on close to 15 dresses, I found the one! I knew I wanted a little glam but wanted something that I could run around, dance my heart out, and didn’t feel restrictive in any way. It’s true that the most opposite dress you imagine yourself in is probably the one you’ll end up leaning towards, hah!
Charity really helped me and guided me towards Pinterest because I was having a hard time piecing together my inspiration and vision in full! I never utilized the app before and it was really nice to go down a rabbit hole of decor ideas and creative ways to personalize the wedding. In the end, I really wanted something that was laid back but still beautiful without overly being ornate or grandiose. I knew I wanted to stick to a budget and fit the details where I could. The wedding department was great about little “hacks” to re-use the decor. (For example: our flowers in the ceremony doubled as our centerpieces for the reception) I also brought a single luggage of signs, pictures and little personal touches to make the wedding feel more like “ours” than just a resort wedding as a result of package a, b, or c.
Each and every single vendor we used on our wedding day was absolutely phenomenal. You start to wonder how perfect a wedding can truly be without having any communication with your vendors in a completely different country but they are ALL professionals!
